Iron Horse Brewlette is a new, experiential, limited-release, draught-only beer series where you/we/us/they have no idea what kind of beer is in the keg until it’s tapped. And even then, it may take one or two pints to figure it out. Okay, that sounds confusing, here’s a different take: We are going to make 3 beers at a time (30 barrels each), Big and Hoppy, Big and Malty, Big and Balanced, all between 7-7.9% ABV. Next, we will keg these beers, but not label, which is which. Then, when we ship them to accounts across Washington, none of us will have any idea which of these beers you get. Hence, Iron Horse Brewlette. (okay, maybe 1 IHB person will know) If you prefer a better explanation, then read Kendall's write up on Washington Beer Blog
Good Response. In mid or late January, we will have a complete list of locations in Washington that will be serving Iron Horse Brewlette ales. Around that same time, the mini-tiny-baby web app that helps you play brewlette will also be ready-ish.
With each release, there will only be handful of locations where Iron Horse Brewlette is available and the quantity is very limited, so you'll want to be ready to go ahead of time.
Your hearing is great. Also, go to the PRIZES section to find out more.
Every time you play Iron Horse Brewlette, you will be entered into our quarterly drawing for ONE grand prize or THREE not-quite-as-great-but-still-pretty-kick-ass other prizes. Official rules will be available before Iron Horse Brewlette officially kicks off, but in the meantime, here's what's on the table. And by table we mean, in the cards. And by in the cards, we mean stuff that can be won.
Okay, the Iron Horse Brewlette, WebApp is ready. It should work on iPhone 4's and 5's. and relatively current Android devices. If it doesn't work on your device, it's completely your fault, not ours. Or maybe not. We'll see. This is a browser based application, so all you have to do is go to: http://ihor.se/brewlette on your phone, then bookmark, save to homescreen or refrigerate the link. Kapooya.
